What is the Best Way to
prepare for Ceremony?

Kambo asks us to be thoroughly nourished, centered, decided so we can be in tune with our natural baseline condition.

The best way to do this is to eat holistically, begin slowing down, and dedicate yourself to an intention the week leading up to ceremony.

There are no dietary restrictions or certain ways that are better than others to eat. Please listen to your body.

Do not fast or feel like you have to do any sort of cleanse.

Hydrate yourself.

Discontinue recreational drug use.

This includes alcohol, cannabis, and caffeine (cut back at a minimum).

For good measure, you can also look at your processed sugar

intake and evaluate if that is something that you would like to

cut back as well.

There is a waiver that has specific parameters laid out and it must be signed before we schedule your session.

Begin noticing where in life you feel frantic, rushed, overworked, etc and make a conscious choice to prioritize time and space for you to be outside in nature, take a bath, read, journal, make art.

Allow your heart and mind to open up to the Spirit of Kambo, because once you decide to sit, the Spirit begins working with you.

Are you able to feel it?

If not, allow yourself to get even quieter and more receptive.

Drop in.

It is from the fertile space of stillness that the most potent, direct, and impactful intentions come through.

What themes have been coming up in life for you lately?

What are you currently growing towards?

What you would you like help or gain clarity with?

What are you healing?

Simply:

What are you letting go of?

What are you calling in?

In my experience, Kambo is happy and honored to assist in your process.

It is up to us to honor and value the experience and interaction by preparing appropriately.

What can you expect
during Ceremony?

We begin by opening Sacred Space through a guided meditation.

You will have an opportunity to share your intention.

I will share instructions and information before serving each medicine so you are able to get the most from each experience.

We will sit with Sananga, then Hapé.

We will shift into Kambo after that.

After Kambo, you have a chance to rest for 20-30 minutes.

Upon, waking I'll share a light snack and coconut water with you.

You are welcome to share any insights or epiphanies during this time.

Before you go, we will close sacred space with a short meditation.

Viva, Kambo!

Let's break down the 20 minutes of Kambo

Start to 5 minutes

You'll begin feeling warm and flushed. You may feel your heart begin to beat faster. It is important to remember your breath during this time. Pressure may build in your head and some buzzing or tingling may come up.

This initial experience is referred to as the Wave. It is where the most fear and anxiety can come to the surface. Breathe. You are safe.

When you sit with me for the first time, we begin with a single point and see how your body tolerates the Wave.

5-15 minutes

The Wave begins to subside and blood pressure begins to drop slightly below your baseline. The peptides that are vasodialators begin to work.

The discomfort begins to set in as flu-like symptoms arise as Kambo works more deeply in the body.

Nausea may begin as well as purging.

I may begin coaching and directing you through your experience to ease your way and encourage you.

Please listen to my instructions.

I may ask you to drink some water, sit up straight, or help you induce a purge if that feels necessary.

15-20 minutes

The home stretch. You'll feel deep in the Kambo sauce at this point. Your purge may want to move south during this time as well. If that is the case, we will slowly and carefully make our way to the restroom. You may continue to purge north as well.

Sometimes, people do not purge at all and their bodies are just soaking in the peptides-- this is a very valid and powerful experience.

When you have reached the 20 minute mark, I will remove your points and cover them with a substance called Dragon's Blood that closes and protects the open skin.
